Urge your legislator to support the ProTECT Act.
I’d like to express my strong support for the Prohibiting Threatened and Endangered Creature Trophies (ProTECT) Act, which would ban trophy hunters from killing and importing animals protected by the Endangered Species Act. Permits allowing the hunting of endangered species contradict the fundamental purpose of the ESA, which is to conserve threatened species, not accelerate their decline. Ending these practices is both the humane and popular choice. In 2022, the Humane Society found that 76% of Americans oppose trophy hunting and 65% oppose the importation of hunting trophies of species listed under the ESA. As your constituent, I urge you to support the ProTECT Act should it reach the floor for a vote. Thank you for your attention to this important issue.
